Writing funk

I am still alive!! I've just been in a bit of funk in real life and that's kept me from doing much writing. I'm finally pulling myself back to it though, and I hope I can have the next chapter done in a couple of weeks.

Also, I'm going to be doing the NaNoWriMo competition and my aim is to have a completed story for posting by the end of November! So, maybe I can kick my behind back in to working on things!!

Sorry for the dead air! I'll try to keep that from happening again!!!

Chapter 4 is up!

Nifty archivists were especially speedy this time and Chapter 4 is now live!!

Your patience is appreciated!

I just wanted to post a quick update. I'm so sorry that I've been silent here, but lately, my mind hasn't been all that conducive to writing. Sadly, I can't seem to focus when I'm in moods like this, and that leads to bad writing. I'd rather take longer and know what I do is something I'm happy with.

Chapter 4 of LWAV is very close to being finished, though. Only two more scenes need to be finished,  and only one of those needs any real length. If I can get my brain back where it belongs, it shouldn't be more than a week before it's done.

Chimera, however, has come to a crawl. Or almost a halt. I still like the story, but I am finding it hard to really get the feel of it. I don't know if writing two so opposite kind of stories at the same time is to blame, but I might have to wait until LWAV is done before finishing Chimera.

However, I have been jotting down notes for the sequel to LWAV, currently unnamed. So, once LWAV wraps up - in which the epilogue sets up the sequel - I will probably begin work on the next story pretty much right away.

Major apologies for anyone who has been waiting, I do promise that the next chapter is on its way!

Chapter 3 has been submitted!

Okay everyone!! Chapter 3 of LWAV has been sent in to nifty! I hope you like it! I'm really looking forward to writing the next part, because that's where all the fun begins to happen! :D And by fun, I mean drama! ;D

I'll post again when the chapter is live on nifty, which should hopefully be in a few days.

Chapter 3 done! Final Editing is next!

Writing is finally done for Chapter 3 of LWAV! Final editing is next and I hope to have it submitted to Nifty by Friday!! So, by first of next week, it should be live!

Hopefully the rest will go faster. I actually have a lot written for the rest of the story, so it helps me shape the plot.

I didn't want to answer the last comment in another comment just in case it got missed, so I'm making a post!

I apologize for the long delay in posting! I've been struggling to get the next chapter of LWAV to go the way I want it to. I think it's coming along well though and with this weekend and a holiday next week ahead of me, I anticipate getting a good bit of writing done!

Chimera is coming along even slower! For some reason, despite the fact that I enjoy the story a lot, it's fighting me in writing. Very frustrating, but I am pushing onward!!

My goal is to have at least one chapter of both stories posted online before I take a scheduled trip in mid July!!

Fingers crossed I can make it!

Slow progress and a request!

LWAV Chapter 3 is coming along very slowly. Sorry guys, I take forever to write sex scenes! I have a lot written for the parts after that though so once I slog through writing this one, the rest should come together much better!

Chimera chapters 1 and 2 are in final editing! I've put them aside for a bit so I can come back and edit again with a fresh view. I should have them up on nifty this week.

Now a request - I have a story I'm working on that I am very attached to. However, I am having a hard time on it. It is set during the Vietnam War, which of course is probably the one war I know almost nothing about! I am at the age that it was before my time, and in school, by the time we got to it, the school year was almost over so we never learned anything in depth. That being said, I need input from others who are more familiar with it. If you have suggestions of books to read or movies to watch that can give me insight, I would greatly appreciate it. I have a documentary dvd that I bought but I haven't had the time to watch it yet. I hope in the coming weeks I can sit down and make some notes on it. Also, if anyone has any first hand experience or knowledge of the war, that would be even better. I could really use some ideas from those who lived it.

Sex is hard!

Well, at least writing it is!! 

Chapter 3 of LWAV is going to be a sex scene, and you never realize just how hard it is to write one until you're in the middle of it. Making it interesting without being too over the top - especially since it's a pretty important moment for both characters - is not easy. I find myself focusing more on the rest of the story and ignoring that chapter! 

Gotta put the nose to the grind stone and get writing! Think Sex!!!

Chapter 2 of "Love With a View" is submitted and should be posted to the site soon! I'm also final editing Chapters 1 and 2 of Chimera.

Chimera chapters will be shorter, because the flow of things is very different from LWAV. I'm really liking having two stories in progress that are so different though. Hope you're enjoying them as well!

Hard at work!

I'm a writing machine right now!!

Chapters 1 & 2 of Chimera should be finished and posted by early next week! The chapters are a little shorter, at least for now, but I think it helps with the flow of things. They might get longer as the story goes.

Chapter 2 of Love with a View is coming along well and I SHOULD be able to get it up on the site in a week or two. Maybe sooner if it keeps going so well. There will be lovin's in chapter 3, though, so that might take a little longer to write. I try to make any sex scenes hot but still loving, so I try to put some extra time in to them.

But I'm on a regular roll, so look forward to updates soon!!!

Almost ready to post!

Whew! I'm finally seeing some hope!!

It has been a long time coming, but I think I will have some things to post very soon! Granted, they'll only be chapters in a couple of on-going stories, but it's something, at least!

I have the first chapter of a modern story written and I've got a few people looking it over before I submit it. Then I have a prologue and first chapter of a fantasy story very nearly finished! I'm also toying with some other ideas to see what I want to work on for a full story. I don't mind posting chapters, but I prefer to post stories all at once - I think that helps me because I like to see things completed.

Well, whatever it is, at least I will have things up soon!!!

An update . . . and a sneak peek!!

Well, it certainly has been a while since I posted here! Mostly, that is due to some incredibly annoying writer's block. I have ideas, but the motivation seems to flee when it comes time to sit down and dredge through the detail writing. However, I am determined to get SOME progress done soon.

In the meantime, I thought I would post a very short blurb from a story idea that hit me today. I might post it in chapters on nifty, since I've got a good chunk of the first chapter fleshed out. I need to refine it more, especially some of the concepts, so this is probably not going to be the final version, BUT I felt like I needed to post something with a little meat to it.

So, without further adieu, here is an excerpt from the first chapter of a new fantasy story, "Lost To the Night."

"Uncle Roberto!"

A little form burst from the door and ran to me, shoulder length brunette ringlets bouncing behind her as she hurried over the gravel drive to me. Isabella was the human child that Paulo had raised from an infant. He had taken her in when her mother was killed by an incredibly violent vampire and raised her as his own. She was his one true love in the world, and every person who came into contact with her instantly adored her.

Despite my mood and my fears, the sight of the young girl brought a smile to my face. I caught her as she leapt into my arms, cradling her tightly and closing my eyes. For just a moment, the world was better. With her there, I could let myself forget everything. I stroked her hair tenderly, a wave of emotions crashing over me and stealing the breath from my throat.

"I've missed you, mi pequeña," I managed to croak out.

Her arms tightened around my neck as she leaned against me. "I missed you too, Uncle Roberto. Are you staying?"

I pulled back gently to gaze into her beautiful blue grey eyes. "I cannot stay long, Isabella. I have business soon. But I must speak with your father before I go."

She looked disappointed, but nodded obediently. "You'll come back very soon, won't you?"

I smiled in spite of myself. "I promise."

As I set her on her feet, she took my hand and led me into the house. A servant stood at the door, waiting to take my coat. I slid it from my shoulders and handed it over.

"Please tell Paulo that I must speak with him immediately."

Oh, hey! Look at that!

You see that? Yeah, that's me writing!

Rare occurrence these days, it seems. I've had at least 10 stories open at one time over the past few weeks trying to get SOME kind of progress on at least one of them. Finally, I've gotten a little bit farther on a story. Still no idea when my next one will be finished, but maybe by working on so many at once, I'll have several finished fairly close together!

At least, that's what I keep telling myself. It's not that I'm just indecisive or anything... Nah, couldn't be that.
